Who We Treat

Our team of Behavioral Health Medical Providers (BHMPs) are culturally and trauma informed. We strive for acceptance of individuals and treat all people with respect and dignity. BHMPs work with our member’s treatment team within Easterseals and beyond into the community.

Many of our members have experienced abuse and/or neglect or discrimination, and we want people to feel heard, welcome, understood, engaged, informed, and that their needs are being met.

Some common diagnoses that we evaluate and treat include symptoms related to:

• Autism Spectrum Disorder

• Attention Deficit and Hyperactivity Disorders

• Psychotic Disorders

• Bipolar Disorders

• Depressive Disorders

• Anxiety Disorders

• Impulse Control Disorders

• Obsessive-Compulsive and Related Disorders

• Trauma and Stressor Related Disorders

• Feeding and Eating Disorders

• Sleep Disorders

• Disruptive, Impulse Control and Conduct Disorders

• Substance Related and Addictive Disorders

What Happens at Appointments

The Medication Services team at Easterseals Behavioral Health provides mental health evaluation, diagnostic clarification, comprehensive treatment planning, and medication management services.

Members who see a Behavioral Health Medical Professional (BHMP) will receive an evaluation that addresses their biological, psychological, social, and spiritual history, present functioning across their environments, and desired outcomes.

A biopsychosocial spiritual, trauma, and culturally informed health plan will be developed, and appropriate referrals will be made for any needs that are determined through the evaluation process.

If medication is prescribed, members will see their assigned BHMP at a frequency which is recommended for safety and optimal functioning, which is generally every 1 to 3 months.

Members will optimally see their BHMP face-to-face in one of our designated offices; telehealth appointments are also available when needed and when clinically supported.

Definitely a great organization and a huge part of the community. I have attended a few of their events and they are all about helping people. Definitely keep them in mind if you need to donate or need a charitable organization.
